Vernon "RJ" Williams
Hi! I’m Vernon Williams, but most people know me as RJ. I’m the proud co-owner of Jacksonville Bedding Mattresses & More, a venture I share with my great friend and business partner, Tara Day.
When I’m not helping people discover the transformative power of better sleep, I’m cherishing time with my amazing wife, Tonysha, and our incredible children—Naomi, KJ, Kaine—and our spirited teenage sister, Azarie. (Yes, she’s a handful, but we wouldn’t trade her for the world!)

As a Certified Sleep Science Coach, I’m deeply passionate about improving lives through quality sleep. It might sound cliché, but I’m truly a people person. Helping others find real solutions to the challenges caused by poor sleep is what drives me.
Giving back is also a cornerstone of my life and business. Growing up as one of nine children in a family that faced significant hardships, I understand the value of community and compassion. That’s why we’ve made it our mission at Jacksonville Bedding to be a business that supports those in need.
We are honored to partner with incredible organizations across Northeast Florida, including the Ronald McDonald House, V for Victory, Habitat for Humanity, Better Together, the Sulzbacher Center, Catholic Charities, Changing Homelessness, the Mandarin Food Bank, Toys for Tots, and many more.

Hi! My name is Tara Day, and I am the co-owner of Jacksonville Bedding, Mattresses & More. I’m a proud Jacksonville, FL native, and I love living, working, and raising my son here in the River City.
After graduating from Wolfson High School and attending college at UNF, I began my retail career as a store manager for Starbucks. In 2009, I met my wife, Tami, and in 2014, we welcomed our greatest blessing—our son, Colton.

After many years in the retail industry, I decided to join my uncle in the mattress business, and it didn’t take long for me to fall in love with it. I’ve always enjoyed meeting new people, and I find great joy and satisfaction in helping my customers.
In 2022, Jacksonville Bedding, Mattresses & More was founded as a joint venture with my business partner and friend, Vernon “RJ” Williams. Our goal was to create a unique shopping experience where our #1 focus is not just sales, but PEOPLE.
My greatest mentor was my late grandmother, who had an incredible gift for making everyone feel welcome with her Southern hospitality. That’s exactly how RJ and I feel about our store—it’s our “home away from home.” We want every customer to feel welcome and like they’re part of the Jacksonville Bedding family.
